Fofao Delivery
Fofao Delivery is a dance crew that performs in front of trucks in Brazil. The crews, often made up of young men from poor neighborhoods who might otherwise get pulled into gangs, spend three months traveling around the country in semi trucks performing choreographed dance routines at traffic stops and gas stations. Their flagship character is the children's cartoon character Fofao, a big cutie with puffy cheeks, a snout and furry hands. Developed and portrayed by Brazilian actor and humorist Orival Pessini, the character became popular among Brazilian kids in the 1980s, leading to TV shows, discs, dolls and licensed products.
When creating the character, Orival said he imagined it could be a pig, a dog, a clown, a teddy bear or an extraterrestrial. He decided to combine them all and the result was Fofao.
